WELCOME TO ST. THOMAS ACADEMY

Our School St. Thomas Academy named with the Patron of St. Thomas, the Apostle of Jesus Christ. He was the first one, of the twelve Apostle of Jesus Christ, who preached the Gospels in India. A Spritual leader of the silent, almost mute and unnoticed.

He is also known and called as the “Twin” and his attachment to his Lord was so deep and authentic that, he dynamited his companisons, “let us also go with him and die with him” (John 11.16), perhaps he was envisaged to accompany Jesus to Mount Calvary, but the Lord escorted him to another Mount in Chennai, India, which is known as St.Thomas Mount, traditionally known as (PARANGI MALAI) and the Portuguese named it as “Mounte Grande”.

Our School St. Thomas Academy is blessed to bear the name of this saint Thomas as Patron of our school and I am sure all those children who study in our school will have brighter and better future with the patronage blessing of St.Thomas. I also would like to appeal to all the parents, and well wishers to visit this school and send your children to have a knowledgeable experience for their future life and we mold them in accumulating the real wisdom, discipline and moral values focusing on the socio-religious aspect.

Burgeoning Of St. Thomas Academy CBSE

St. Thomas Academy is a unit of Diocese of Chingleput Society started on June 17 2017 in a small class room in the campus of Marian school attached to St. Patrick Church, Butt road, St. Thomas Mount.

“Education for All” is the sole aim of our Diocese of Chingleput where by it makes sure that all types of educational method inclusive of CBSE reaches through our service to all the children without any discrimination, especially the marginalized, poor and the needy.

Our Chairman Most. Rev. Dr. A. Neethinathan, Bishop of Chingleput decided to start a new educational Institute with CBSE curriculum in St. Thomas Mount under the patronage of St. Thomas, the Apostle of Jesus, where by the prestigious institute Named as St. Thomas Academy CBSE. It began on 17th June 2017 in a small class room with 90 students and 14 teaching staff and Non-Teaching staff. Our School had faced its own trails and difficulties, but all these paved a way for a better success and shaped St. Thomas Academy as Prestigious institute with the initiative of Rev. Fr. Christuraj, the Correspondent at the time. He took it as a challenge to put up a beautiful infrastructure in a conducive atmosphere with all the facilities accommodative to the children and satisfying expectation of the parents who approach us to admit their children in our school. This beautiful building with all the amenities was blessed and opened on 12th August 2018 by our chairman Most.Rev .Dr. A. Neethinathan Bishop of Chingleput in the presence parents, Students and priests from our diocese. We are grateful to all those who in one or other way helped to Burgeon this institute to larger extent.

Today the institute proudly stands itself with 400 students and 25 teaching faculty and 8 Non- Teaching faculties with Principal Sr. Sandhya Rani JMJ in this new building.

The school also privilege to have the separate Director cum Correspondent Rev. Fr. C. Paul Raj for this esteemed institute, in order to develop and to expand, keeping in mind the Motto our School “Aspiring for Excellence”. I believe that our Prestigious school march towards excellence in all things for all both in academic and Extra Curricular activities.

Here we strive for excellence in every field like student assessment, student involvement, and social accountability, holistic development of the student, faculty development and reproduction in learning. Excellence requires enormous effort. We push ourselves beyond our comfort zone. We don’t compare ourselves with others instead we use others success as our motivation. We focus on our unique goals and unique idea of excellence and we work on it to achieve. We also make our students to accept mistakes. In our institution we focus on the process and results for we know excellence cannot be achieved in a hurry but through hard work, planning and strategies will help us to reach excellence.
